Most Suicidal Adults Don't Receive Mental Health Services

According to a new report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, more than half of the 8.6 million American adults who have had serious thoughts of suicide in the past year didn't receive mental health services. Each year more than 35,000 people commit suicide. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), offers free, confidential mental health counseling 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
